7M announced winners of Carmarthenshire Sumdog Competition
The Mathematics Department is absolutely delighted to announce that 7M were the overall winners of the recent Sumdog Maths Contest for Carmarthenshire schools. In total, 1515 students across the county answered 484660 questions correctly and 7M topped the leader-board out of 67 classes that qualified. Mr Richard Allen, Maths teacher and Sumdog Coordinator at Glan-y-Mor, said that the whole school are thrilled by the success achieved by 7M. The pupils were really committed to the competition, playing along both in school and at home and were excited about the prospect of winning as they kept a daily track of their progress on the leader-board over the week long contest. Glan-y-Môr has a great track record of success in Sumdog contests and this latest victory has served to boost the confidence of our youngest mathematicians whilst strengthening their numeracy skills in a fun and engaging way!
