Annual Prize Evening

Our Prize Evening is an annual opportunity to recognise our pupils' outstanding achievements and this year we had a record number.

A glance at our programme, with its number and range of awards, illustrates our core aim of pupils achieving their potential, and demonstrates how effective we are in helping them to succeed.

Academic achievement was recognised by awards for excellent performance and commitment in all subjects. The ultimate academic prize was won by Nathan Hewitt.  His  7A* and 3A grades won him the Llanelli Schools Award for "Outstanding Achievement in GCSE".  At the other end of the age range, we were delighted to welcome Primary Headteachers to present Transition awards for the Best Results at End of Key Stage 2.

In addition to academic excellence, we celebrate high standards in Attendance, Commitment and Community Service.  Creativity is rewarded by a series of Design, Arts, Music and Drama prizes.

We are very grateful to the individuals and organisations who have sponsored prizes in honour of their links to the school. Some prizes are commemorative.  Others represent a valued partnership between Glan-y-Môr and our sponsors:  Coleg Sir Gar (Aim for Excellence award), Schaeffler, Specsavers, CBSA, Burry Port Town Council and Gower College.

If you would like to sponsor an award, please contact the school to discuss how you could help reward our outstanding pupils.
