Challenge Day - 6th October 2015
Year 9 pupils took part in STEM Alu Challenge during the recent Challenge day. They had to develop ideas for one of three tasks; A design for innovative form of packaging, A one person vehicle for short journeys or a Garden workspace for a creative worker. All three tasks had to make use of Aluminium and had to be sustainable. The best ideas from the day will be developed and entered into the Alu Challenge Competition. The pupils were supported on the day by Anthony Douglas from Alupro and Thomas Hawkin a civil engineering from Dawnus. As part of the day's activities the pupils also undertook an activity to see which team could build the tallest freestanding structure from just one roll of aluminium foil in just ten minutes (we did of course recycle the foil).
