NATIONAL SUCCESS ONCE AGAIN FOR OUR TEENTECH PUPILS
Rebecca Lewis, Sophia Morgan and Mollie Dunning (year 8) won yet another national STEM award at the TeenTech Awards in London last Monday. The girls have been developing an idea for an enhanced version for the Scan as you Shop system used by Tesco. In response to the brief how can you make life, easier or simpler the girls came up with an idea which made a trip to the supermarket, quicker, potentially cheaper as well as helping customers stay health through their shopping choices. They have worked with both the local Trostre store and Tesco Head Office technology department to develop the idea which saw them win the fashion and retail category at the awards which took place at the Royal Society in London. The girls are now looking forward to a celebration event at Buckingham Palace, where they will be congratulated by TeenTech's Patron HRH The Duke of York. This is the second time in three years pupils from Ysgol Glan-y-Môr have won at this prestigious event.
