Flowers in Bloom - Thursday 9th July
Members of our Eco Committee visited Burry Port to see how their ideas have been used to create a special garden. The newly planted area, which at different times has been the site of a chapel, a shop and Twm's Cinema, was designed by Sean Dunne, of Year 9. It is now part of Burry Port's entry in the Wales in Bloom competition. The pupils talked to the judges about their involvement in the garden.
The next stage in the garden project is for the Technology Department to create a pair of benches for the area. The design has been based on the simple seating used when the garden was the site of Twm's Cinema in the 1920s.
A plaque at the garden celebrates the link between the local community and Glan-y-Mor.
