Glan-y-Mor pupils Go Green
Glan-y-Môr pupils “went green” on Friday to support both Macmillan and the RNLI, as well as celebrate the recent success of the school. Students were encouraged to “go green” themselves” and wear green tops to show their support for Macmillan, on a day where the school also conducted its annual sponsored walk along the seafront to raise money for the RNLI.
Head of School John Jones said: “Though our school colours are blue and yellow, green is a colour that has been synonymous with Glan-y-Môr over recent times with both our categorisation as a “green” high performing school, and our Estyn inspection that also categorised us as Excellent. As a proud community school it made perfect sense to use Macmillan’s national coffee morning as an opportunity to celebrate and support good causes that benefit so many of our community such as both Macmillan and the RNLI”.
Altogether the school raised just over £3,000 to be split equally between the two charities.
