Information for parents regarding 'spare seats' on transport

Following a Risk Assessment, the Authority is now able to reintroduce the “spare seat” policy for learners living within the walking distance of their catchment or nearest school to be able to travel on school buses where there is spare capacity.

The cut off for receipt of applications for this year has therefore been extended to 29^th October 2021, after which applications will be processed in accordance with the stipulated eligibility criteria and awards will be made during mid November. Those who have already applied during the course of the current year do not need to re-apply.

Applications can be made online at carmarthenshire.gov.wales/schooltransport - remember to choose the “spare seat” option in the application form.
