Prize Evening Celebrates Excellence

Our Prize Evening enabled us to showcase pupils' achievement in academic subjects, attendance, endeavour and outstanding personal qualities.  In all, 212 prizes were awarded, to pupils in Year 7 - 11, including a Transition award.  This high number shows that we establish high academic standards while giving pupils many different ways to achieve success.  This is a small selection of the award criteria which reflect our mission as a school:  Vision and Focus; Leadership; All-round Sporting Achievement; Voluntary Service; Rising Star; Aim for Excellence; Learners of the Month; Excellence in Engineering and STEM.  Last year's GCSE achievers enjoyed re-visiting us for the presentation of Graduation Scrolls. Our Guest Speaker, Steve Hughes (Principality Building Society) paid tribute to the efforts of staff and pupils in achieving high standards.

We are very appreciative of the continuing support provided by guest presenters and sponsors.  The occasion was enhanced by contributions from Heads of primary schools, former colleagues and our partners in the community, FE and business.

The Prize Evening shows that we are a successful school that is continuously improving.
