Pupils win award from the Welsh Heritage Schools Initiative
We have just completed our Lead Creative Schools project with a group of Year 9 pupils. For the past few months, the pupils have worked with the Pembrey and Burry Port Heritage Group to produce a digital trail called "Shine a Light on the Community". The pupils chose 5 important local sites, researched them and presented their information in a variety of digital formats including augmented reality using Blippar. Scanning their logos reveals a collection of animations, sound recordings, video clips, newsreel and images for large-scale projection.
We have been fortunate to have the support of Trinity St David's and Coleg Sir Gar to help them develop the digital skills.
This week, we heard we have won an award for our work from the Welsh Heritage Schools Initiative.
The project has been funded by the Arts Council for Wales so that we could work with the artist Laura Denning.
