Visit of Mr Huw Lewis, WA Minister for Education & Skills

On Thursday 11th February we were delighted to host a visit from the Welsh Assembly Minister for Education and Skills, Mr Huw Lewis AM.

The minister was keen to praise the outstanding progress being made by the school in terms of pupil outcomes and well being. He had an opportunity to meet with senior pupils of the school and to spend considerable time with the highly successful (STEM groups) as they demonstrated the cross curricular learning they had been involved with. He was delighted that the school had been acknowledged for its success by being selected as one of a small number of secondary schools in Wales to be awarded Pioneer Status for curriculum development. Glan-y-Môr  will be pivital as  one of the Pilots that will shape the delivery of education in Wales over the next five years.
