Year 10 pupil selected for Education Week in London Competition
Congratulations to Shaughn Poulter who has been selected as one of the 8 pupils from across Wales for the Education Week in London competition.
London Week 2017 is a collaboration between the Welsh Government and London-based firm Judicium Education and offers a once in a lifetime week of work experience opportunities for eight secondary school pupils. It runs from Sunday 9th July to Friday 14th July. The scheme is intended to give hard-working, determined and aspirational students a rare insight into working-life in the City.
At the start of the week, the successful group of students will be split into two teams and asked to devise their own ‘Dragons’ Den’ style pitch. The teams will be asked to pitch for a project of their choice in the context of developing a world-leading Welsh business, charity or venture by the year 2042. The students will re-convene in Wales to give their final presentations to a panel of guest ‘Dragons’. This will be in front of an audience of family, friends, teachers and the Cabinet Secretary for Education, Kirsty Williams AM.
During the week, students will be taken on a variety of exclusive visits. In previous years, this has included a private tour of the House of Lords and a visit to MI6 where the students met the Head of Service "C" (referred to as "M" in the ‘Bond’ films), and a number of field-operatives who discussed the declassified aspects of their work.
