Year 9 Pupils take part in ICE Engineering Team Challenge
A group of Year 9 pupils visited the National Botanic Gardens of Wales this week to take part in the ICE Engineering Challenge. They began with a very successful attempt at the starter activity for the day – our pupils built the tallest tower out of a pack of playing cards!
The main engineering challenge of the day involved teams designing and building a strong column to support a model bridge during a flash flood. Our pupils showed excellent team work and problem-solving skills, and enjoyed working with the engineer volunteers. One of our teams did such a good job they won the ‘overall best project of the day’!
A big congratulations to winners Kian Day, Brook Fox, Kate Thomas, Ebony Walters, Donna Thomas, Tegan Radcliffe and Eos Griffiths!
